Elsewhere, contractors are turning to connected machinery and telematics to improve productivity and make better use of increasingly stretched fleets and workforces.

At the same time, climate adaptation is creating new infrastructure priorities, from flood protection and coastal defences to water security, while the revival of nuclear power raises a longstanding question: can complex reactor programmes finally be delivered repeatedly, efficiently and at scale?
